About this Post: A High Dynamic Range Photo (HDR) is a photo that is a combination of multiple photos with different exposures. The framing and composition is the same in all three but the exposure settings are different. This allows you to get the best lights, darks and mid-tones in your final picture.

Title: Siding
Date/Time: 5/25/11, 11:26 AM
Location: Bannack, MT
F-Stop: f/3.5
Shutter Speed: 1/320, 1/3200, 1/1000
Camera: Canon EOS 60D
Other: Taking the three photos and using Dynamic Photo I combined them into a High Dynamic Range (HDR) Photo. This allowed me to use all of the lightest and darkest areas and all the mid-tones int he photos to get something with a lot of contrast. I also desaturated the colors to bring out the grays in the sky.

Title: Main Street HDR
Date/Time: 5/25/11, 11:00 AM
Location: Bannack, MT
F-Stop: f/5.0
Shutter Speed: 1/2500, 1/8000, 1/640
Camera: Canon EOS 60D
Other: Using Dynamic Photo I was able to combine all three pictures create an HDR. I saturated the colors to bring out the reds more.

Title: Barn HDR
Date/Time: 5/25/11, 2:41 PM
Location: Bannack, MT
F-Stop: f/3.5
Shutter Speed: 1/40
Camera: Canon EOS 60D
Other: In this HDR I only took one picture and created an HDR by changing the exposure afterwards. I used Dynamic Photo to create this HDR. This was taken inside a barn looking up. I saturated the colors to bring out the reds.

  1. I absolutely love the way your HDR images turned out. The lighting and composition of your shots totally made the shot what it is. The combination of these different lighting aspects really turned out great. I love the texture, the depth of field in each shot, and the bright and vibrant colors. These just look so professional. Great work with the camera and excellent work with the post processing editing.

  2. I agree completely with what was already said. I love the way you composed your HDR shots. I think they are well balanced without being too over-processed like some HDR can be. I especially liked the one of the brick because the red color really pops in HDR. Keep up the good work.
